Term Time Teachers work closely with Kent & Sussex County Councils and Private Nurseries in supporting them with their recruitment of Crèche & Nursery Assistants; we currently have vacancies throughout Kent and Sussex.

Crèche & Nursery Assistants provide excellent quality care and they ensure the well-being of children and toddlers in a variety of settings and surroundings.

Qualities, Skills & Abilities

The care and well-being of pre-school children.
Assisting with basic hygiene and toilet training.
To keep all records up to date and accurate in line with the OfSTED requirements.
Planning, organisation and supervision of appropriate play activities and creative activities.
Assisting with the development of communication skills, motor skills, problem solving, social skills and story telling.
Plan, deliver and record play and development activities such as building with bricks or shapes, playing with sand, water, dough, mud, materials, music, rhymes, drums, sound. All materials should reflect diverse cultural lifestyles of children.

Duties & Responsibilities - General

Undertake all these duties ensuring the right to confidentiality of the staff, carers and children involved in the crèche.
To adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternative systems.
It will be necessary to work with information technology and associated systems in accordance with set policies.
To co-operate in complying with relevant health and safety legislation, policies and procedures in the performance of the duties of the post.
To carry out the duties and responsibilities of the post in compliance with equal opportunities policies.
To maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate.
To understand and comply with environmental policies.
To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function, commensurate with the grading and level of responsibilities of the post.

Methods of Working:

Crèche & Nursery Assistants will be expected to adopt a participative and collaborative style of team working.
Crèche & Nursery Assistants will be assisted to undertake any necessary training associated with the duties of the post.
Crèche & Nursery Assistants will be expected to understand and comply with the Authority’s Equal Opportunities, Safeguarding Children and Environmental Policies
Crèche & Nursery Assistants will comply with all Health and Safety Policies and Legislation in the performance of their duties and responsibilities.
Crèche & Nursery Assistants to liaise with parents/carers in a supportive, non-judgmental manner.
