Teaching Assistant

Here at Term Time Teachers we are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work in a school in Tunbridge Wells to support children with physical disabilities to cover maternity leave.

This position would be on a full time basis Monday to Friday.

About you:

• Ideally hold a Support teaching and learning qualification, however, having good experience would be considered.
• To have experience in working with children who have physical disabilities.
• To have experience in supporting children with specific learning needs.
• To be a positive and enthusiastic individual who is willing to take on challenges.
• To have effective teaching strategies in supporting children with need
• You must be someone who is calm and able to adapt changing your approach where appropriate.
• Follow the school's policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• To be able to motivate and engage the pupils, ensuring to take into account individual needs.
• Supporting individuals in their individual needs, being able to further their development and learning using effective teaching and support strategies. Particularly supporting their physical needs.
• Working together with teachers, SENCO, and other relevant professionals as appropriate, ensuring to give feedback on pupils learning and development.
• To contribute to support plans and planning.
• Effectively carrying out behaviour management strategies and ensuring this is consistent.
• Praising children and providing assistance to encourage children within their learning and development.
• To undertake physical routines as appropriate, aiding in supporting independence.
• To recognise and use appropriate intervention strategies.
• To be supportive and reassuring to pupil.
• Ensuring to promote inclusion at all time.
• Being able to adapt learning for children to suit their individual needs.
• To undertake continual professional development.
